GOOD! I'm glad you liked it. I really enjoyed it. I really enjoy seeing Burton's perspective on movies and this was a sweet example. I definitely think he should do a Wizard of Oz remake....maybe not yet, but I think he could pull it off really well. I hear you on the losing yourself in the fantasy of lucid story reading and sorta escaping from the world. Definitely couldn't agree more. A favorite of mine growing up was The Neverending Story and James and the Giant Peach.

I also really like how Burton put subtle aspects of previous movies in this film. Like when Alice falls down the rabbit hole and is in the ring of doors (Nightmare Before Christmas) or when the Mad Hatter cuts the dress up for Alice with this fingers under the table (Edward Scissorhands). Yeah, this movie was pretty badass. Needless to say the visuals were spectacular :)

I. Loved. This. Movie.

I loooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooved it!

I want to see it like 700 more times in a row.

I was telling JCPE afterward that I forgot how much I loved the story of Alice. I forgot how much I loved every story of a girl turning a corner and all of a sudden being the most important person in a place riddled with adventure.

Same thing happens in the Wizard of Oz, all of a sudden you're there, and all of a sudden you're IMPORTANT.

As the oldest of 5 I spent time alone, surprisingly, hidden behind bookshelves and curled up on the top shelf of closets. Because those precious moments where you're alone you can actually believe that something cool might happen to you, that people realize you're missing and that they miss you.

I don't know what it is, but it hits a mark that I didn't expect it to hit. I'm very emotionally attached to this movie already.

The only thing that I noticed was that Danny Elfman wasn't the composer, I asked JCPE about it and he said that he and Tim got in a fight and no longer speak! If someone totally musically handicapped as me could notice that it wasn't Elfman, that's a problem!
