Okay, so I’m about to share something a bit more personal than usual. There are quite a few things in life that I really get a kick out of. An amazing song, an amazing book. Old people. Babies. Smart women. Smart men. Romantic Comedies, especially ones starring Diane Keaton, and guitars. Oh, and “gentlemen culture.” But I also kinda sorta dig, the food network. Especially after what I saw the other night.
There’s this guy, Chef Jeff Henderson who after serving a substantial amount of time in prison, decided to devote his life to the culinary arts. Not only did he start whipping up fancy meals, but he also decided to use cooking as a way to save the lives of other young people who are “at risk.” No, no, no, he’s not just teaching a class, or giving a seminar. He EMPLOYED them! As in, they work for his catering company. Gang bangers, young mothers, drug dealers, former drug addicts, are all manning his business, under his tutelage of course. And the best part, is that he gives them all hugs, and HE CRIES a lot, proud of their accomplishments.
Quality television. Food Network. Really. Here’s the link…share in the love of this dude!
That’s so cool- I love the new wave of altruistic entertainment. I really do see society headed in a meaningful direction recently… I hope it sticks.
Also, I’ve got the B-52s, you have Diane Keaton. I’ll pass no judgment…. well, only a little!
