Where the Wild Things Are Trailer

Where the Wild Things Are just released its trailer a few hours ago. I’m completely awestruck. When’s the last time we’ve seen a trailer this good?

Yes, it’s a dream team: Spike Jonze, Dave Eggers, Big Daddy Mo Sendak, and (for the trailer) The Arcade Fire. But it has to be- they’re adapting a book that’s less than 500 words! (Though back when I was a teacher I learned that it took Maurice Sendak FIVE YEARS to write this thing.)

Well, they completely annihilated my expectations. This is pure magic. And officially the movie I’m most excited to see.

God, I hope this opens the floodgates for classic children’s book adaptations. Can you imagine Harold’s Purple Crayon?!

Looks like this is an apple exlusive or something so they’re force to take it off…. Here is the link at least – http://www.apple.com/trailers/wb/wherethewildthingsare/

Man this looks so good I have no idea what to do. All I want to do right now is have adventures. I wish I could watch it immediately.

The movie trailer feels exactly how you think it should, but you didn’t know it until you see it.

Green Eggs and Ham! Why doesn’t anyone do a not-lame Dr. Seuss movie? Dr. Seuss is the coolest and we get Mike Myers as the Cat in the Hat? Unfair.

Oh my god, I’m ridiculously excited! It’s exactly how I want it to look. I hope the movie as a whole holds up!

Also, I followed this link from Vic’s facebook status and I kept thinking, I wonder what site he linked to, it looks so nice. Seriously it was another five minutes before I realized it was Popten… I was like whoa, I write on this thing. Pretty!

I feel like I say this too often, but Amanda and I were talking about great childhood books a couple weeks ago. I immediately realized how awesome this movie would be. Damn….but awesome!
