Another One Bites the Dust – Nujabes

And the deaths continue. This time, we’ve lost Japanese hip-hop producer and DJ, Nujabes.

On March 19, it was announced that the 36-year-old had been in a car accident in Tokyo on February 26. He died later at a hospital in Shibuya.

Nujabes, who real name was Seba Jun, was best known for his prolific contributions to the anime series, Samurai Champloo. However, he also collaborated with underground American hip-hop acts CYNE, Cise Starr, Apani B, Five Deez, Substantial, CL Smooth, Terry Callier, as well as British rapper Funky DL and R&B singer Dwele, and Japanese artists such as Uyama Hiroto, Shing02 and MINMI. He also owned the Shibuya record stores, T Records and Guinness Records, and was the founder of the independent label Hydeout Productions.
